What the girls are doing at Stitch Bitch

The girls have been so busy knitting and I have been sooo bad about telling everyone what they've been up to. Our group has grown to a steady dozen Every Tuesday night we take over our local Panera Restaurant.to start new project or research a pattern or just discuss what holding us back from trying a new stitch.

An ongoing project has been our baby blankets that we have made for a local orphanage.Everyone make an individual square with leftover sock yarn Then, I sew the squares together randomly. This was the second one we made and when I dropped it off, I was told they send them home with a child that no longer needs their services as a sort of security blanket. It warmed my heart.

This sweater was done by Jeanne......She is multi talented ,as you can tell, this pattern is not a self making color scheme. She painstakingly chooses and changes the color and design herself. So many yarns are dyed in a way that with little effort you can knit a fair Isle design but, this is the real deal. She is currently working on the final sleeve and then it will be ready to wear. I would be putting it under glass myself but, what do I know.........said the hobbit

So glad you get time to talk, even if you don't stitch!

What type of restaurant is Panera? We do not have them here - a friend in California goes to one every week.

Panera is a bread/teahouse offering light fare for lunch and dinner. We take over their largest table and sometimes have as many as 18 people. This is our 5th year and we have a great time, yea mostly gabbing, but, we need that.

It sounds like a place I would enjoy. Yes, the gabbing is more important than the stitching!
